Owned and operated by recently age retired Police Dog handler Wayne Algie and his family. Wayne was responsible for the development, training and handling of renowned Queensland Police Dog Bosun. Our goal is to breed and develop top quality working line German Shepherds for Police, Military, Corrections, Search and Rescue, Security and Sporting persons. Servicing customers in the Gold Coast in Queensland, Northern Rivers in New South Wales and others throughout Australia. At Von Rhys Kennels we aim to produce a strong workable shepherd. With emphasis on a stable, balanced nature with strong work ethic and drive. We strive for our dogs to not only have all the attributes required to make a good service dog but also free from genetic problems.
Whilst we specialise in supplying working dogs and sporting dogs from time to time we identify pups from litters that would make great family and/or companion dogs. So if you are looking for a strong healthy family member that will show you loyalty and many years of devoted love or a pet that will look after your family we can supply your needs as well.
At Von Rhys Kennels we can supply you a puppy at eight weeks old with good genetics for the job you require. We can assist by giving you information to help develop your puppy for the role you have in mind for them. From basic scent work to Suburban tracking. From basic grip work to chase and apprehend or stand and defend. Depending on your needs we can supply the dog for you. We guarantee that our dogs will pass any training course and will not fail due to genetic health issues or genetic temperament. Due to the unpredictable nature of genetics and breeding we at Von Rhys Kennels accept that there will always be exceptions and will always endeavour to reach a satisfactory outcome for all involved. We will not abandon our puppy owners. If your pup does not meet your expectations or requirements for your job we will be open to re acquiring the dog. We sell all our dogs with up to date inoculations and restricted pedigrees or under some circumstances open pedigrees.
